Investing in the Next Generation of Athletes
In November 2019, Serhiy Tarasov, the founder of the agricultural holding "I AND YOU GROUP UKRAINE," was approached by Honored Coach of Ukraine Vyacheslav Zhukov. Coach Zhukov, who teaches at the Specialized Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve "Nadiya," requested charitable assistance in the amount of 30,000 UAH for the development of the school's weightlifting department. Serhiy Dmytrovych readily agreed to help.
Immediate Results on the European Stage
The positive results followed quickly. At the European Youth Weightlifting Championship for boys and girls under 15, held in Eilat, Israel, from December 6 to 14, a student of "Nadiya" Sports School, Daria Shestel, earned an honorable 9th place. She achieved her personal best, confirming her title as Master of Sports of Ukraine.
Based on her performance, Daria was selected to participate in the 2020 World Cadet Championship, which will take place in Bucharest in March. Daria Shestel was trained for the competition by coaches V. Zhukov, Yu. Kondratenko, and V. Ivashchyshyn. Congratulations to them on their success! At this championship, the Ukrainian team placed 5th in its group.
